The Independent pages of this website

Border Collie Rescue Texas, Inc. This is a service
provided for dogs which are
available for adoption from shelters, other rescue
groups, independent rescuers and those who are no
longer able to keep their pet. All dogs are
required to have an adoption fee, we do not list free
dogs. These dogs are not evaluated by
Border Collie Rescue Texas, Inc. and
Border Collie Rescue Texas, Inc. does not
assume any responsibility for the
adoption of these dogs. Any
adoptions of dogs listed on the
Independent Adoption Website are solely
transacted between the independent
rescuers and the adoptive owner.
Border Collie Rescue Texas, Inc. does not
warrant any claims about the dogs listed
as available for adoption through the
Independent pages of this website.
|
To correctly id your dog as a Border Collie, please see our
page The
Different Looks of the Border Collie.
We require that a minimum
adoption fee of $75.00 is asked, paid to the adopting agent
(listing dog owner) and an approved application to be
processed by the adopting agent.
Biting: BC's will occasionally nip a child's
heel, as they would a sheep while herding, but a strong grip
or any bite that breaks the skin and leaves serious puncture
marks indicates that the dog cannot be trusted and work with
a professional trainer may be needed. If a dog has bitten
in a non-abuse situation the dog should NOT be listed
on this site.

Libby is a
wonderful, mostly black border collie/lab mix rescued by our
family from a state park in Texas. She is very affectionate,
adaptable and intelligent. She has become a healthy girl with a
beautiful coat and she is spayed and current on shots. She is
also housebroken, crate trained and rides well in the car.
Libby is devoted to the family and is always where we are. She
does well with our children, ages 8 and 11, but could benefit
from training to not jump up when excited. She also plays well
with our 4 year old wheaten terrier. Based on her reactions on
walks, I would not put her with a cat.
An adoption fee of $90.00 and an approved
Adoption Application are
required for adoption. All references will be checked and a
home visit may be done.
If you have a place in your heart and home for a girl like
this, you can contact
owner@yourhouse.com.
